The results are in, and grant applications are open now!

We are thrilled to share the results of public voting in this year’s LA2050 Grants Challenge. We received more than 60,000 votes from 8,000 participants across Los Angeles County. Voting took place online over a three-week period, from April 18th to May 6th, 2022, and was available in both English and Spanish.

During the voting period, Angelenos were asked to vote for the issues that they care most about and determine what issues would be eligible for $1 million in grant funding.

Here are the issues that Los Angeles voted to fund:

PLAY

  • Green Space, Park Access, and Trees
  • Community Safety

LIVE

  • Affordable Housing and Homelessness
  • Climate and Environment

LEARN

  • K-12 STEAM Education
  • Support for Foster and Systems-Impacted Youth

CREATE

  • Income Inequality
  • BIPOC- and Women-Owned Businesses

CONNECT

  • Public Transit
  • Immigrant and Refugee Support

+ SPONSORED ISSUES!

  • Access to Creative Industry Employment
  • Youth Economic Advancement

We are excited to announce that two funding partners are generously sponsoring additional issue areas!

The Snap Foundation is funding the "Access to Creative Industry Employment" issue area and looking for projects that develop pathways to the creative economy for underrepresented youth in Los Angeles ages 6 to 24.

Another Funding Partner, to be announced, is sponsoring "Youth Economic Advancement" and looking for submissions from organizations working with young people to decrease income inequality, find quality jobs, and advance within careers. There is a special preference for organizations working with Opportunity Youth, those ages 16 to 24 and not in work or school.

If you represent a nonprofit organization, for-profit company, or government agency and you have an idea for how to make an impact on one of the 11 issues listed above, we invite you to open a grant application now. Applications are available through June 17th, 2022. Ten organizations will be awarded first-place prizes of $75,000 and five will be awarded second-place prizes of $50,000.
