Mariam Bagdady Promoted to New Position at Goldhirsh Foundation and LA2050
PostedThe Goldhirsh Foundation and its LA2050 initiative have promoted Mariam Bagdady to the position of Social Media and Communications Assistant.

At USC, she was a USC Norman Topping Scholarship recipient and graduated cum laude with a Communication degree, Law emphasis.
Bagdady brings writing and reporting skills to the Foundation, having written for multiple publications including Atwood Magazine, The Daily Nexus, The Garnette Report, TMZ, SCene Magazine, and Flaunt Magazine.
When Bagdady was hired as a Fellow, she told us she is devoted to being an advocate for all communities and aims to help Los Angeles become the best that it can be — whether it be addressing racial inequity or prison reform.
“I am both honored and thrilled to be a part of the Goldhirsh Foundation team — one so dedicated to providing Los Angeles and its residents with the best resources available,” she said. “I hope that through my time at the Foundation, I can be a pivotal part in Los Angeles’ strive to be ruled by passion, not injustice.
Bagdady has already worked with her colleagues on a wide range of platforms and projects, including the organization’s signature annual LA2050 Grants Challenge.
This spring, approximately 15,000 Angelenos cast more than 105,000 votes in the Grants Challenge, telling us what ten issues matter most to them. Next, hundreds of nonprofit organizations, social enterprises, and government agencies submitted grant applications based upon their ideas to address those ten issues. This autumn, dozens of grants will be awarded by LA2050 and our Funding Partners.Bagdady also recently launched the @LA2050_ TikTok and a monthly news and information IG Reels series, “LA2050 Time.”
