What is your understanding of the issue that you are seeking to address?

The Antelope Valley Violence Prevention program aims to address the multifaceted challenges faced by foster and systems-impacted youth, who are often disproportionately affected by violence and its detrimental effects on their mental health, safety, and overall well-being. These youth are at higher risk for experiencing trauma, instability, and a lack of supportive networks, which can hinder their personal and academic development. By providing comprehensive violence prevention strategies, including therapeutic interventions, conflict resolution training, and community engagement, the program seeks to create a safer and more nurturing environment. This, in turn, will help mitigate the adverse effects of violence, promote mental health, and empower these young individuals to build healthier, more stable futures.
