Founded in 1993, OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center has been a trusted leader in providing grief support services to children, teens, and adults throughout Los Angeles for over 30 years. Our work is deeply rooted in the community, with long-standing relationships and programs. As we embark on refreshing our marketing and digital infrastructure, we seek a creative and strategic Marketing and Communications Manager to steward our messaging into the next chapter.

About this job

The Los Angeles Marketing and Communications Manager will lead local outreach and communications efforts, helping to modernize and align existing materials and platforms with our new bi-coastal strategy. This person will work closely with the Executive Director to translate our evolving national identity into powerful local engagement, while preserving the unique legacy of OUR HOUSE in LA.

Roles & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and modernize the existing Los Angeles marketing toolkit (e.g., flyers, newsletters, legacy web content).

• Implement updated branding and messaging as developed for a national presence.

• Participate in a website redesign committee that is led by a full-service strategic digital marketing agency and LA/NYC Executive Directors.

• Maintain and adapt existing content for new CMS/website platform.

• Oversee and optimize email marketing (e.g., Constant Contact) and social media campaigns on established platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).

• Support visibility of fundraising events and campaigns in the LA area.

• Collaborate with Program teams to ensure consistency across communication touchpoints.

• Serve as brand ambassador at Los Angeles community events, conferences, and trainings.

• Assist in collecting and sharing impactful stories and testimonials from local program participants and volunteers.

• Leverage the LA-based volunteer board and committee members to amplify campaigns and secure earned media opportunities.

• Work collaboratively with the New York team to share creative assets, cross-promote major campaigns, and ensure strategic alignment across markets.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in nonprofit marketing, communications, or public relations.

• Proven ability to modernize legacy communications systems and tools.

• Experience working with diverse communities in Los Angeles.

• Strong writing and editing skills.

• Familiarity with WordPress, Constant Contact, Canva, and basic SEO.

• A passion for grief support or mental health services is a strong plus.
