Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority has retained Partners in Diversity, Inc. in seeking a Director of Engineering (Track work) to lead track work design and engineering for transit and rail projects.
Roles & responsibilities
This role requires expertise in track work design, grade crossings, alignments, yards, construction support, and maintenance. This position is a member of the Program Management Cabinet, Engineering Department.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience designing trackwork for transit rail, commuter, or freight rail, including grade separations, at-grade crossings, special trackwork, and yard designs.
• Knowledge of rail transit industry standards such as Metro Rail Design Criteria (MRDC), California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), and American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA).
• Proficiency in Microstation, AutoCAD, and InRoads for rail design and review.
• Experience developing and reviewing track construction specifications.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architecture.
• Minimum five years of relevant management-level experience as an engineer, architect, or Project Manager on major transit or public works projects, with at least two years of specialized experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in California is preferred.
