Cornerstone Theater Company

Cornerstone collaborates with communities to make theater about being alive right now, and our city right now is struggling to imagine an equitable future on the other side of the fires. Working in collaboration with local artists, and community members impacted by the Eaton fire, we will create a space for collective healing and artistic expression. Cornerstone’s “Untitled Fires Project” will culminate in a collaboratively created theatrical adaptation designed to bring communities back together and advocate for ethical recovery efforts.

“Public Practices” is a series of gatherings that unfold in three different collaborative areas; collective song, collective dance, and public discourse. Taken together each of the various gatherings proposes new ways for people to be present in public space – with each other, and with the land, and address the root causes of social isolation and mental illness with community-based creative practice.

Cornerstone envisions a home that provides a shared space for Angelenos to come together to create, collaborate and engage in dialogue acting as a site for civic engagement and creative practice.
