California Justice Leaders Expansion
California Justice Leaders (CJL) is a dual impact, workforce and mentorship innovation for justice impacted youth and young adults. Justice Leaders receive one year of on-the-job training through a network of 15 LA-based community organizations, a proven professional development curriculum, one-on-one coaching, and living stipends. They, in turn, act as mentors for youth who are in detention and early reentry. In 2025 CJL is expanding to support the county's depopulation of juvenile halls.

Building Economic Opportunity for California Justice Leaders
Impact Justice’sCalifornia Justice Leaders (CJL) is an original AmeriCorps program designed to intentionally recruit, train, and employ justice-impacted young adults as "credible messengers" in community-based organizations. Through a year of paid service, CJL members provide crucial peer support to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated youth, empowering them while honing their own professional skills. This program aims to foster deep personal and community transformation, further supported by our Alumni Program for ongoing career development.
