CREATE ·2019 Grants ChallengeBiotech Leaders Academy: Fostering a new generation of diverse biotech entrepreneurs through hands-on work and mentorship
LABH, in collaboration with East Los Angeles College and Pasadena City College, will grow the Biotech Leaders Academy - a summer program that introduces East LA students to the possibilities of becoming a biotech entrepreneur. As we embark on our 4th year, we will place more community college students into internships with biotech companies that give them valuable experience. Students will also attend an entrepreneurship academy that introduces them to pathways for creating a biotech startup.

Biotech Leaders Academy: Growing diverse entrepreneurs in biotech via hands-on work and mentorship
LA Bioscience Hub, in collaboration with East Los Angeles College (ELAC), will create the Biotech Leaders Academy - a new program that introduces East LA’s bioscience students to the possibilities of becoming a biotech entrepreneur. We will place students into summer internships with LA biotech companies to give them valuable hands-on work experience. Students will also attend an entrepreneurship academy that introduces them to the opportunities and pathways of creating a biotech startup.
