Increasing Affordable Housing On Religious Land

LA Voice works with faith communities and their leadership to redevelop their property into new affordable housing. The Faith in Housing project is unique in that we are working with faith-based leadership to build primarily on congregational land and LA Voice is the only organization conducting this work, rendering us an essential resource for congregations. Support for the program will increase capacity to develop affordable housing on congregational land, while simultaneously increasing economic sustainability for congregations.

    LA Free the Vote

LA Free the Vote is an initiative to civically engage the justice system impacted community. We inform individuals of their rights, register them to vote, and educate voters on salient policy issues, particularly those related to criminal justice reform. By helping to bring this community to the polls, we are building the power of those who have been disenfranchised, restoring formerly incarcerated individuals’ sense of integration into society and advocating for policies that promote racial justice and economic opportunity for all.

Turning Out Voters Through Local Relationships

LA will not solve its problem of racial inequity without greater civic participation. Voter turnout is at a historic low, and LA Voice has a plan to turn that around. Barriers to voting can be overcome by leaders from diverse faith backgrounds investing in local relationships to increase participation. When LA Voice leaders turn out all 40,000 people represented by our 36 diverse congregations-- AND their neighbors--it will shift the electorate towards a more representative, inclusive county.
